MR ANDOLSEK'S STATEMENT:
"The cake itself is from a local grocery store. It was originally a circle, but I cut it into a square and then covered it with frosting (also store-bought) as smoothly as possible. The flowers are sculpted from sugar paste, and I learned how to make them by taking a class from Ms. Catalina Anghel.
"After spending hours and hours on these little roses, I now know firsthand just how much effort and skill it takes to decorate a cake. Sugar Art for Autism members, thank you for setting time aside every year to create something special just for Autism Awareness Month. You put a lot of hard work and time into your pieces, and they are extraordinary. You are great examples of the potential we as humans have and of our responsibility to help and support others."
